Rotary Isolator Switch
A finger-safe rotary isolator switch for AC 50 Hz main circuits up to 440 V. Built as the main switch of air-conditioners, water pumps, ventilating equipment and small AC motors — with add-on auxiliary contacts, a neutral terminal, an earthing terminal and an optional IP65 enclosure.
What The LW30 Rotary Isolator Switch Covers
Le LW30 rotary isolator switch breaks, closes and changes over circuits under infrequent manual operation. It is the standard main switch in air-conditioner units, water pump panels and ventilating equipment, and it also drives small AC motors directly.
The body is offered in nine current ratings from 20 A to 175 A. Auxiliary contacts, a neutral terminal and an earthing terminal are separate options on the same body, so one product family can build a complete distribution panel without adding terminal blocks.
Because the insulation distance is larger than a conventional switch and the disconnecting motion is fast, the LW30 is also used on DC circuits. A thermoplastic sealing box takes the protection level from IP2L0 to IP65 across the whole current range.
Each pole is a double-break contact, so the arc is split twice and a stalled motor is cleared without welding the contacts. The rated current is moulded into the front plate, and the same body is built as a 3-pole or a 4-pole unit without changing the panel cut-out.
For export projects every batch ships with a dimensional drawing and a routine test record. The ordering code, the mounting version and the plate legend are confirmed in writing before production starts, so the batch that arrives matches the panel you designed.
Mounting Options For A Rotary Isolator Switch
One switch body, six ways to fit it. Plate and single-hole versions take a 1–5 mm panel; front plates are M0 to M4 square plates with 4-D2 fixing holes, and base versions mount on a 35 mm parallel. Pick the version that matches your panel, then confirm the code with our engineer.

Where A Rotary Isolator Switch Is Used
The catalogue names air-conditioners, water pumps and ventilating equipment as the primary applications. In all three the rotary isolator switch sits on the panel as the visible point of isolation, with small AC motors switched directly.
Water pump control panel
The isolator sits on the panel door as the visible point of isolation. Finger-protection terminals cover the live parts behind it, and the pad-lock or door-lock version keeps the panel locked off during maintenance.
Air-conditioner and ventilation units
The LW30 is the main switch inside the unit. A neutral terminal and an earthing terminal can be ordered on the same body, so the supply is terminated at the switch instead of a separate terminal block.
Switchgear and distribution assemblies
Base installation and DIN-rail mounting let several LW30 units sit side by side in a 35 mm assembly, with the auxiliary contacts wired to the panel indication circuit.

Is the LW30 a rotary isolator switch or a cam switch?
Both names describe the same product. Cantak names it a rotary isolator switch, and the catalogue also uses the term cam switch because the contacts are operated by cam plates. In the ordering code the family is written as "Rotary switch (Cam switch)".
Which LW30 model gives IP65 protection?
Any LW30 from 20 A to 175 A can be ordered with the thermoplastic sealing box. Without the box the protection level is IP2L0; with the box it is IP65.
What is the difference between LW30 and LW30B?
LW30B is the B derivative of the same family, used as the main switch of ventilation equipment, air-conditioners and water pump systems. It covers 16 A to 32 A with Ui 690 V. The LW30 itself covers 20 A to 175 A at 240 / 440 V.
Can the auxiliary contacts be fitted later?
The additional contact blocks mount separately on the switch body, so they can be added on the same body rather than replaced. Rating is AC15 220–240 V 6 A and 380–440 V 4 A, with 20,000 electrical operations.
What does finger-protection terminal mean?
It is a shroud around the connection screws that keeps a finger away from the live busbar. The LW30 series has it fitted as standard, which matters when the panel is inspected with the door open.
How do I confirm the ordering code before production?

Is there a DC or photovoltaic version?

Can I get a sample before placing a bulk order?
